Highest Resolution

The Leaf Aptus-II family includes the new Leaf Aptus-II 12 and Aptus-II 12R. Offering the best price-performance ratio of any 80MP single-shot capture device, the Leaf Aptus-II 12 allows you to take your photography further by capturing the highest quality, single-shot images possible. Working closely with our sensor manufacturer, we developed a full frame, medium format, 80MP CCD sensor, measuring 53.7 x 40.3 mm, providing the ability to record the finest detail, eliminating the need to use cumbersome multi-shot solutions. On the Leaf Aptus-II 12R you can change from landscape to portrait orientation with a simple turn of the Leaf Verto internal sensor rotation dial. Enjoy the comfort of keeping the camera upright, rotating just the sensor.

Leaf Aptus-II 12R

Quick-Change Orientation – More Time for Shooting
On the Leaf Aptus-II 12R, you can change from landscape to portrait orientation with a simple turn of the Leaf Verto internal sensor rotation dial.

  • Enjoy the comfort of keeping the camera upright, rotating just the sensor.
  • On the Hasselblad V-series, as well as Mamiya RZ and Bronica cameras,  use either a waist level or a prism viewfinder with ease, since otherwise neither viewfinder would be viewable when the camera is  on its side.
  • Keep your eye on your subject as you turn the hermetically sealed sensor into a locked position.
  • Face  less risk from the elements and from dust falling on the IR filter, resulting in less spots for you to clean in post production and letting you put more time into shooting.

Faster Workflow – Concentrate on the Shoot

Now, you can easily capture in portrait mode, saving time and minimizing the interference to your flow – concentrating on the shoot.

For a flat copy studio setup, where the camera and back are mounted on a copy stand pointing down, don’t stop the flow and re-mount the back to change orientation.

  • When shooting handheld or on a tripod, don’t take the digital back off the camera, or turn the back, to change orientation.

Uncompromised Image Quality

Preserve the most delicate highlights and distinguish details in deep shadows. Leading elements bring out natural skin tones, subtle textures and accurate color reproduction.

Leaf Aptus-II digital backs produce images that have been compared to film-like quality – superior to any capture device available in the industry, regardless of resolution.

  • Brilliant 16-bit color files of up to 480MB
  • Unique color filters ensure consistent and accurate color reproduction
  • Full Frame 53.7 x 40.3mm sensor with unsurpassed 12 f–stop dynamic range provides unmatched detail, richness and color, low noise, and striking highlights
  • Broad ISO: from 50 to 800
